Call for Papers
Journal of Early Years Insights (JoEYI)
The Journal of Early Years Insights (JoEYI) invites submissions of high-quality conceptual and empirical manuscripts that contribute to advancing knowledge and practice in the field of Early Childhood Education (ECE). We particularly encourage contributions that address contemporary issues, innovative practices, and critical perspectives that support inclusive, equitable, and high-quality early learning environments for all children.
Submission Guidelines
- Deadline for submission: 15 April 2026
- Submission format: Manuscripts should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document (not PDF) to editor.joeyi@vu.edu.au
- Length: 3,000 - 4,500 words (excluding references)
- Referencing style: APA 7th edition. Authors are responsible for accuracy in citations and references.
- Peer review: All manuscripts will undergo double-blind peer review.

- Access, equity, and inclusion in ECE
- Embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in ECE
- Cultural, intercultural, and multicultural perspectives in ECE

- Loose parts and play
- Child development theories and practices
- Curriculum design and implementation
- Language acquisition and mathematical thinking in ECE

- Innovations in ECE technology
- Materials and creative resources used in ECE
Publication Details
- Open Access: All accepted papers will be published open access at no cost to authors.
- Academic Integrity: Any use of AI tools in manuscript preparation must be explicitly acknowledged. Submissions may be screened using academic integrity software.
- Notification of outcome: Authors will be notified of initial review decisions within approximately 8–10 weeks of submission.
